Summer Reading Programs begin

Garland Library (TX)
625 Austin St 75040 Garland United States
The Library’s Summer Reading Programs: Summer Fun for Everyone
June 4 to July 30

Did you know the Nicholson Memorial Library System has Summer Reading Programs for readers of all ages? Whether you are a kid, teen, or adult, you can participate in a reading program for your age group. Why should you participate? In addition to the pleasure you receive from reading a good book, you may also earn prizes!

On Your Mark, Get Set…Read!
Children, infants through age 11, are encouraged to participate. Participants may pick up the first of four reading logs at any Garland Library Children’s Desk. On this day only, the first 125 children and teens to register at each library location receive a special prize. Once participants have read at least 20 minutes a day for 7 days, they can exchange their log for an age-appropriate prize and additional reading log. The last day to get a log is July 23, and the final day to collect prizes is July 30.

Adults can join in the summer reading fun too. Beginning June 4, adults ages 18 and older may pick up a Bingo card at the Adult Services Desks of any Garland library and start completing reading challenges and other activities. Participants will be entered into a drawing for prizes for each Bingo card they complete. A total of four Bingo cards can be completed. The final day to turn in Bingo cards is July 30. Adults will also have the opportunity to enjoy special events like craft programs, movies, and live musical entertainment.

Calendars of special events and information on how to participate in any of the reading programs will be available June 4 at all library locations.
